Alvin W Stanley, 64, of Luray, died on Wednesday, June 15,2011, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1947, in Shenandoah and was a son of the late Ernest David and Myrtle Gertrude Tappy Stanley.
On Sep 19, 1975, he married the former Nina Marie Painter, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Theresa Ann Burns, RoseMary Swenson, Tina Marie Franks and Lisa Marie Good, all of Luray; six brothers, Charles Ray and David Ernest Stanley, both of Luray, Donald Lee Stanley of Shenandoah and William "Wimpy", Larry Edward and Roy Dale Stanley, all of Stanley; four sisters, Barbara Ann Lansberry, Carolyn Maxine Huffman and Geraldine Mae Cave, all of Luray, and Lois Jean Breeden of Elkton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Franklin Stanley; and two sisters, Mary Gertrude Moubray and Phyllis Marie Stanley.
A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, June 18, at the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
