Died as a result of a car accident.

STANLEY, JOHNNY FRANKLIN - The funeral for Johnny Franklin Stanley age 47 yrs. who was killed by a car crash in the Jollett Hollow section of Rockingham Co. Saturday (27Feb1988) will be held today at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial in the Adventist Cemetery at Stanley. State police said Mr. Stanley lost control of his car 1;30 a.m. Saturday on Va. 609, just west of Va. 606 & ran off the road. No further details were available Sunday. Mr. Stanley worked at the Wrangler plant annex in Luray and lived in Stanley. Born 02 Jul 1940 in Page Co. s/o Ernest D & Myrtle Tappy Stanley of Stanley. 8 brothers, Roy Lee, Donald, Roy Dale, & Charles Ray Stanley all of Luray & David, William, Larry & Wayne Stanley, all of Stanley. 6 sisters, Judy Mae Taylor of Stanley, Lois Breeden & Mary Moubray both of Elkton, Geraldine Cave & Barbara Lansberry oth of Luray & Carolyn Stanley of Springfield.
