Early Resident At James Dies/Nathaniel Savage Succumbs To A Brief Illness
Nathaniel Savage, 81,died late Saturday at his farm home two miles east of James following a brief sickness. He had resided there for 38 years,Mr.Savage was born February 14,1857,in Pottstown, Pa. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1861 and came to Sioux City in 1884.
Survivors include two sons, Charles of Sioux City and George of James; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Nelson of New Hartford, Iowa, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, Rev. J. B. Feller of Leeds officiating,and interment made in Graceland Park cemetery,Sioux City.
