President of The Broadway Department Stores, founded by his father-in-law Arthur Letts.He was married to Florence Edna Letts, a Toronto native and daughter of Arthur and Florence (Philp) Letts, by Rev. Samuel Philp in East Hollywood, California, on February 27, 1912. They were the parents of two daughters. They were later divorced and he remarried Carolyn.They made their home in Holmby Hills, at 594 South Mapleton Drive, later the Bing Crosby mansion, demolished in 1986-1990 to build the mansion of Aaron Spelling.
