Taylor attended school at Independence and Morton, Miss. He joined the Springfield Baptist Church and moved his membership to Forest Baptist Church 18 Sep 1955 where he has served as Supt. of Young Married Adults, a Deacon, Pres. of Brotherhood and Sec. of Training Union Class. After extensive surgery he gave his testimony at Forest Baptist Church 6 Jan 1991 and did a very nice job. He is past Pres. of Forest Jaycees, Past Adj. of American Legion Post No. 9, having served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, and Assistant Scout Master from 1967-1974 for Forest Troop #63. He was Vice-President Manager of Fred L. Gaddis Feed Mill. He was owner/ operator of Taylor Gaddis Farms. Taylor had cancer surgery in 1980 and with additional problems, on 28 Mar 1989, he underwent a 19 hour operation (one of the longest on record at the V.A. Hospital), receiving 16 pints of blood. He died on the table and was brought back to life by 3 different teams of Doctors who operated on him. Taylor had colorectal adenocarcinoma Ducke's class C in Sep 1979 with surgery resulting in colostomy. After surgery had chemo and radiation treatments. He lost his business, Taylor Gaddis Farms, at this time. Several years later, Taylor & youngest son Steven, became owner/operators of one eighteen wheeler. Taylor's cancer returned in his bladder in Mar 1989. This extensive surgery left him with a urstomy & barely able to walk, unable to work from this point. In 1991 cancer spread to his lungs.
