Edward Gaddis attended Independence School and graduated from Morton, Miss. High School in 1944, and attended Miss. State Univ. until entering the service. During World War II he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Jan 1945 and received an honorable discharge June 1946. He joined the Springfield Baptist Church and later was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Forest, Miss. He was a member of the American Legion, Post Commander 40 et 8 V.F.W., Miss State Alumni, Past Pres. Chamber of Commerce. In 1947 when his brother Fred resigned from the Naval Air Corps Fred and Ed went into a partnership business known as Gaddis Bros., which was a broiler business. This was dissolved in 1957 and Ed went into the lumber business known as King Lumber Co. and also had Gaddis Grocery Store. Ed died of cancer
