Mary Agnes Holschlag was born at New Hampton, Iowa. She spent her early years there. On March 7, 1905, she married Peter P. Brommenschenkel. They made their home in New Hampton until March 1912 when they moved to Norman County, Minnesota purchasing a farm in McDonaldsville township west of Ada, Minnesota. She was living there until 1940 when she became ill and was taken to Minneapolis. She died at the Eitel Hospital at the age of 57. Her children were: Leona (Mrs. George Arends), Paul, Raymond, Orval, Clare, Maurice, Francis and Bertille.
