James Wesley Bland, 71, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in his home, 903 East Third Street in Pana. He was born in Cold Spring Township, Shelby County, Illinois,the son of William Austin Bland and Mary Ann Lankford Bland. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Mr. Bland left his wife, Elizabeth Della: a son Austin, and 3 daughters. Mrs. Stevanna Crystal Terry, Mrs Naomi Virginia Reed and Mrs. Juanita Ethel Tetley, all of Pana. Three sisters, Mrs. Vina Linn, Herrick: Mrs. Lizzie Fouts of Sadorus and Mrs. Rhoda Gould of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by three children, James Clifford, Raymond Roscoe and Lois Hazel Bland. Services were held on Tuesday, November 22, 1949.
