Valparaiso, IN -- Nellie Sovina Baldwin, 87, of Valparaiso and a Porter County resident since 1951 passed away Friday, April 29, 2005 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center.
She was born December 10, 1918 in Du Quoin, IL the daughter of Walter G. and Bessie (Stevens) Brown. Nellie was a member of Calvary Church in Valparaiso.
On August 13, 1938 in St. Charles, MO she married Herbert Baldwin, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1983.
She was a loving mother to four children: Kay (Roger) Rigg of Valparaiso, Barbara Sue Adkins of Valparaiso, Herbert (Claire) Baldwin, Jr. of Westville, Roger Dale (Pamela) Baldwin of Valparaiso; nine grandchildren: Michael Birky, Mark Birky, Joseph Baldwin, Melissa Baldwin-Thomas, Debbie Rigg, Krista Rigg-Lazaro, Jeffery Baldwin, Gregory Baldwin and Christian Baldwin and nine great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-8 PM.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Horton Hospice Center.
