Mrs. Thelma Hobbs Allen, age 92, a resident of Four Oaks, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 17, 1918 to the late Walter Marshall and Annie Johnson Hobbs in Johnston County, North Carolina.
She was a member of Four Oaks Advent Christian Church. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William T. Allen; brothers Ralph A. Hobbs, Hugh Bryan Hobbs, Walter Leon Hobbs, and Shelton J. Hobbs; sisters Inez Hobbs Coats and Ruth Hobbs Smith.
Thelma is survived by her daughter Louie Jane Allen; and her son William Braxton Allen, and his wife Linda S. Allen; three granddaughters Bethany Allen Hale,Susan Allen, and Michelle Allen Keene, and her husband Jeremy, and one great-grandson William Gavin Keene; her sister Annie Neta Hodges; her brother Charles Dennis Hobbs, and his wife Winnie.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Minshew Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Minshew Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James David Tart and Rev. James H. Wooten officiating. She will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery, in Benson, NC.
