Ogden---Mrs. Edith Brenchley Stephens, 69, of 1580 Maule Drive, died Monday, May 31, 1982, at the McKay-Dee Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born May 3, 1913, in Wellsville, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Clegg and Cassie Stoddard Brenchley.

On March 23, 1934, she married William LaFrantz Stephens in Logan. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1936.

She had been a corporate secretary for Salt Lake Building Co. of Ogden and Dream House Inc. in Roy.

She lived in Wellsville and had lived in Ogden since 1932.

She attended school in Cache Valley.

She was an active member of the Ogden 43rd LDS Ward.

Surviving are her husband of Ogden; one son and one daughter; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel in Ogden with Bishop Richard Southwick of the 43rd Ward officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment in Ogden City Cemetery.
