Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Mae Roark, 68, of 193 Thomas Street will be held Thursday afternoon at 4:30. Mrs. Roark was born in Asheville, N.C., but had made her home here for the past 31 years.
She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Geneva Painter, Mrs. Dorothy Gibson, Mrs. Lucy Blitchington, Mrs. Belle Edwards, all of Union, and Mrs. Nannie Mae Bolton of Jonesville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Fujie Varner of Union; two sons, W.B. Roark of Union and Marshall Roark of New Orleans; three stepsons, Russell, Stanley, and Leonard Roark, all of Union; four sisters, Mrs. Florence Addison of Old Fort, N.C., Mrs. Ruby Casey of Enoree, Mrs. Cora Landing of Gastonia, N.C., Mrs. Dolly Head of Pinesville, N.C., also 54 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at The Church of The Nazarene, with Rev. W.E. Sargent and Rev. L.L. Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
The following are requested to serve as active pallbearers and will assemble at the home of Mrs. Geneva Painter, 103 Lybrand Street at 4 o'clock, Oren Burgess, Junior Roark, Jessie Blitchington, Louis Horne, Jimmy Woods and Johnny Burgess. The body will remain at the home until the hour of service.
The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
