Howard Roark Dies of Gunshot Wound Received When Shotgun
Went Off Accidentally

Yesterday afternoon, Howard Roark, a lad of 12 years, went hunting with an older brother and in toying with the shotgun, it was accidentally discharged and the load went into his chest, causing instant death.
The lad was a son of W.B. Roark of Mt. Vernon section and the accident occurred near Mt. Vernon spring about 4 o'clock Christmas Day.
The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the interment followed in Rosemont cemetery.

Roark, the lad who accidentally shot himself yesterday afternoon were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Rosemont cemetery, conducted by Rev. T.D. Toler.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Roark, and the following brothers and sisters; Misses Annie Mae, Geneva and Lucy and Beachy Roark and Grady and Marshall Roark.
The Edgar Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
