Fannie was born to Charles and Ella Watkins in Minnesota. She was formally adopted by Silas and Elizabeth Latimer some time after her mother's death.

Mrs. Fannie Belle Latimer Sherwood, 87, Ripon, R. 2, died Monday at her home.

The daughter of Charles W. and Luella Chase Watson, she was born Oct. 12, 1878. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Latimer, Fair Water, attended Fair Water and Ripon public schools, and had lived at her rural Ripon home
for 53 years. She was married to Ralph Sherwood Oct. 30, 1912. She had lived in Tennhassen, Minn., as well as Fair Water and Ripon. She was a dressmaker, and a member of the Ripon Methodist Church.

Mrs. Sherwood is survived by three sons, Somers, Wesley and Sidney, and a daughter, Rachel, all of the Town of Ripon; a brother, Guy C. Watkins, Soap Lake, Wash.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Butzin Funeral Home, Rev. Ardys Van Staven officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Friends may call after 2 pm. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
