Mrs. Lillian Bland Lewis Bruce -
MELDRIM - Mrs. Lillian Bland Lewis Bruce, 90, of Meldrim, died on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Hospice Savannah. She grew up on the Fort Stewart Reservation in Liberty County. She is the last of ten children of Remer and Carolyn Bland. Her adult years were spent in Savannah, Glenville and Meldrim, and she spent 18 months traveling in Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Lillian was the owner/operator of Bruce's Restaurant in Hinesville in the 1970's. She was a member of Meldrim Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husband's G.E. Lewis and A.J. Bruce, and one son, George Robert "Bobby" Lewis. Lillian is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dennis "Trip" Triplett of Meldrim; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Carole Lewis of Townsend; six grandchildren; three great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
