DIED. Friday, August 17, at the residence of her son, Dr. George Fechtig, on South Jonathan street, this town, of jaundice, Mrs. M.E. Fichtig, widow of the late Geo. Fechtig, aged 77 years, 7 months and 11 days.
Deceased was a lady whose amiability and goodness endeared her to all her friends and acquaintances. She was one of our oldest citizens, her father, the late Benj. Yoe, having been among the early settlers in Hagerstown, and her family has always occupied a most conspicuous position in our local community. She was an exemplary christian and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Her remains were consigned to the grave in Rose Hill Cemetery on Saturday evening, her pastor, the Rev. J. B. Stitt, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mayberry Goheen .
