Benjamin Franklin Barnard was born February 5, 1841 in Gibson, Co., Tennessee., the fifth child of George Washington and Elizabeth Barnard who had married in 1834. The family came to Arkansas in 1847-48.
During the civil War, Benjamin Franklin, know as Frank, joined the Confederacy along with his father and brothers. He led his father from the battlefield after he was wounded in the Battle of Marks Mill in the Spring of 1864. Frank married Precila Abaline Teters,on October 3, 1859 in Scott County. She was the daughter of George H and Catherine Teters and was born January 20, 1842.
They were the parents of 14 children.
