MRS. HELEN YOUNG, 46, R.R. 9, died at 8:30 pm yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital where she had been a patient 11 days. She had lived the last 18 years in Allen County. She was a member of First Christian Church. Surviving are the husband, Delmas; three children, all at home, Sylvan, Michael and Ardis Rose Young; father John Conard, and brother, Glen Conard, both of Monroe County, IN, and sisters, Mrs. Alice Stevens, Mrs. Frances Rogers, Mrs. Ruth Smith, Mrs. Betsy Turner, all of Bloomington, Mrs. Gertrude Gwinn of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ethel Gorsuch of Schenectady, NY. The body was taken to the D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home.

Former County teacher Dies In Fort Wayne. Word was received here today of the death of Mrs. Helen Young, 46-year-ol former Monroe County school teacher, last night in the St. Joseph's Hospital at Fort Wayne. Mrs. Young passed away at 8:40 pm. She had been a victim of leukemia for the last six years and had been hospitalized periodically during that time. She had taught at various schools around Monroe County, spending most of her time at the Waterworks school. She is survived by the husband, Delmas, who also taught in the county, two sons, Sylvan Keith and Michael Lee, and a daughter, Ardis Rose, all at home; the father, John Conard, Monroe County, six sisters, Mrs. Alice Stevens, Mrs. Frances Rogers, Mrs. Ruth Smith, and Mrs. Betsy Turner, all of Monroe County, and Mrs. Gertrude Gwin, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Ethel Gorsuch, Schenectady, NY, and a brother, Glen Conard, Monroe County. Mrs. Young was born east of Bloomington, Jan 13, 1908. Funeral arrangements are pending. - Bloomington Herald Telephone 19 May 1954.

Young Funeral At Fort Wayne. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Young, former Monroe County school teacher who passed away Tuesday at Fort Wayne, will be held at 10 am Friday at the First Christian Church in Fort Wayne. The body then will be brought to Unionville Cemetery in time for graveside services at 4 pm and then burial. Bloomington Herald Telephone 20 May 1954.
