Delmas L. Young, 78, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Bloomington, died Monday at Home Hospital in Lafayette. Born July 31, 1907, in Bloomington, he was the son of Oscar and Gertha (Brock) Young. He was a member of the Indiana State Teachers' Association, and the Indiana Bee Keepers' Association. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fort Wayne. He attended Indiana University where he received his bachelor's degree in 1934. He was a schoolteacher for 38 years. Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Young of Lafayette, and Sylvan Keith Young of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter, Ardis Rose Young of Bloomfield, and a brother, Marion Young of Bloomington; two sisters, Marjorie Kahl of Bloomington, and Ruth McClung of Unionville; and three grandchildren. Services will be 2 pm Thursday at the Little Union Baptist Church in Unionville with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the D.O. McCombs Maplewood Chapel Funeral Home in Fort Wayne 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm Wednesday, and at the church one hour before services Thursday.
