Cora E. Hammond, 72, 554 Hoyt Ave., died Thursday in Ball Hospital. Born in Stearns, Ky., she came to Muncie as a young woman. Her husband, James, died in 1967.
Surviving are two sons, Charles and Jerry Hammond, both of Muncie; four daughters, Patricia Kurtz, R.R.1, Daleville, Nancy Conley, Muncie, Phyllis Woodring, Parker City, and Dian Floyd, Dover, Fla.; her mother, Bessie Hines, Muncie; two brothers, Don Hines and Paul Hines, both of Muncie; three sisters, Willa Mae VanNatter, Charline Rudisill and Joyce Hines, all of Muncie; two foster sons, Jerry Price and james Atkinson, both of Muncie; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and five stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel, with Rev. Paul Vise and Rev. Edward Pease officiating.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling at the mortuary is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.
