Mr. Hines was born in Stearns, Ky. He moved to Muncie in the 1950s. He was a hammer operator for Broderick Corp. and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Hines (wife-Wilma); three sisters, Wila Mae Vannatter, Charlene Rudisill (husband-Ralph), and Joyce Hines; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Virgina Hines; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Erma Joan Hines; a brother, Jack Hines; and a sister, Cora Hammond.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel with Rev. J. Edward Pease officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday or 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
