Graveside services will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette for Andrus P. Guidry, age 92, who passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. The Rev. Kenny Talbot, grandson-in-law, pastor of New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Breaux Bridge, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Guidry was a native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of Lafayette since 1946. He was a retired owner and operator of Guidry's Auto Repair in Lafayette for over thirty years of service and had previously been employed with Service Chevrolet. Mr. Guidry was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Cathedral Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette. He was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a past member of the V.F.W. Post # 9822 in Judice. He was also an avid gardener, fisherman and accordion player.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Guidry and his wife, Dellie, of Broussard and Randy Guidry and his wife, Brenda, of Scott; one daughter, Linda G. Allemand and her husband, Ken, of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Jerry Guidry and his wife, Sharon, Brian Guidry and his wife, Rhonda, Kasie B. Sziy and her husband, Kelly, Angeline A. Thibault and her husband, Graham, Jamie B. Talbot and her husband, Kenny, Nicholas Allemand, Angie G. Jens and her husband, Barret, and Kristen Guidry; fourteen great grandchildren; and one brother, J.C. Guidry of Cleveland, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy one years, the former Jeanne Benoit; his parents, Dosete Guidry and the former Leonore Landry, both natives of Breaux Bridge; two grandchildren, Rhonda Guidry and Katie Broussard; one brother, John B. Guidry; and three sisters, Leota Gonsuron, Louisa Thibodeaux and Meon Devillier.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
