In 1920 Jacob (9 y) lived with his parents William M (36 y) and Clara (36 y) Alberda and siblings Edith (13 y), Peter (10 y), Cora (8 y), Lizzie (6 y), Joseph (4 y 6 m) and Henry (1 y 6 m) in Gallatin County, very probably in the Dutch settlement Holland, later on called Amsterdam-Churchill, in the southwestern part of Montana.

In 1930 Jake (19 y) lived with his parents Will (46 y) and Clara (46 y) Alberda and his siblings Peter (20 y), Cora (18 y), Elizabeth (16 y), Joe (14 y), Henry (11 y), Jennette (9 y), William (7 y) and Nellie (4 y) in Holland, Gallatin, Montana.

Jake Alberda married on 28 October 1936 in his residence place Manhattan, Gallatin County at the age of 26 years to the one year younger Jeane Leep, born in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Andrew Leep and Sarah De Vriese, also residing in Manhattan.
Jake's sister Edith Alberda married in 1928 to Jeanne's brother Oscar ("Harry"), born in 1902 in Chicgo.

In 1940 farmer Jacob Alberda (29 y), his wife Jeanne (29 y) and their children Wayne A (2 y) and Sharon F (0 y) lived at a rented farm in Holland, Gallatin, Montana. His parents lived nextdoors to him at an own farm. It's quite likely that Jacob and his family lived at his parental farm.
They had later on four more children.

Jake died in January 1993 in Bozeman, seat of Gallatin County, at the age of 82 years, since 1974 widower of Jeanne, who died at the age of 63 years.
