The Progress, Clearfield, Pa., Wednesday, December 20, 2000 -- Robert F. Hite, 76, of 417 Shaw St., Clearfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at DuBois Nursing Home. - Born Feb. 24, 1924, in Clearfield, he was a son of Frederick R. and Ida (Resides) Hite. - Mr. Hite was a desk clerk at the former Clearfield Hotel until his retirement. - He attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Wolf Run. - Mr. Hite was a member of the Clearfield Fire Co. No. 1 for 58 years, where he had also served as an ambulance attendant. - He is survived by a sister, Margaret C. Soluri of Clearfield; 10 nieces and four nephews. - His parents, five sisters, Sara Mabie, Alverda Reynolds, Lois Kyler, Vada Spingola and Marie P. Hite; an infant sister, Anna Louise Hite; a brother, Reuben; a niece and three nephews preceded him in death. - Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Dr. Duane White officiating. - Interment will be at Goshen Cemetery. - Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services. - The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Fire, Co. No. 1, 108 E. Cherry St., Clearfield, Pa. 16830; or to Clearfield Emergency Medical Services, 713 W. Front St., Clearfield, Pa. 16830.
