Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the chapel of Melton Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Sorrells, Joshua Blythe and Gerald Morris officiating.
Burial was in Addie Cemetery.
A native of Jackson County, she was born March 21, 1935 to the late N.N. and Annie Plott Bryson. A 1953 graduate of Sylva High School, she worked at Dayco Corp. for 38 years and at Day International for two years, retiring as office manager in 1990. She was a member of Buff Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard N. Bryson; and two sisters, Lillian Bryson James and Harriet Bryson.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Bill Shuler; one brother, Arnold Bryson of Waynesville; and six sisters, Ruby McCall, Maude Bryson, Betty Fisher and Norma Ashe, all of Waynesville, Olive Jane McClure of Asheville and Virginia Lowe of Florida.
