Stella Perkins Hobbs, 95, of Wilmington, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Davis Health Care Center, Wilmington. Born Aug. 8, 1908, in Mooresville, she was a daughter of the late Ross C. and Wincie Elizabeth Osborne Perkins. Mrs. Hobbs was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church, Statesville.

She was married to Andrew Pressley “Press” Hobbs, who preceded her in death. A grandson, Richard L. Berry, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hobbs is survived by a daughter, Beth H. Berry of Wilmington; sisters, Dee Sherrill and Bernice Sloop, both of Mooresville; granddaughter, Cindy Berry; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 12, at the Cavin- Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville, with Elder Charles Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 434 Fayetteville Street Mall, Two Hanover Square, Suite 1600, Raleigh, NC 27601-1764 and/or Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Conley Mecimore, 245 Powell Rd., Taylorsville, NC 28681.
