Raymond Harry Mahoney Raymond H. "Ray" Mahoney, 74, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006, at his home in Spring Hill, Kan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, 913-592-2244. Burial will follow with Military Honors at the Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to KC Hospice or Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at the funeral home. Ray was born March 6, 1932, in Osakis, Minnesota to John E. and Bertha E. (Miller) Mahoney. He served in the Army from 1946-1952 with the rank of Corporal. He married Glena Jean Leaming on October 16, 1955 in Macon City, Mo. He was a carpenter for General Motors in Kansas City, Kan., for 30 years. He was a farmer, cattleman and handyman. He built his home and later moved it to Spring Hill in 1979. He built other homes, restored automobiles, attended many farm auctions in the area and the Paola Livestock Auctions and Stricker's Auctions. He was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church and Local UAW #31. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, of the home; sons, Larry R. and Kevin L. Mahoney of Spring Hill; daughters, Laurie J. Smith of Paola and Lisa M. Rousselo of Gardner; siblings, John Mahoney of Prescott, Kan., Betty Edlin of Kansas City, Kan., Donald Mahoney of Spring Hill, David Mahoney of Kansas City, Kan., and Shirley Burkhardt of Kearney, Mo.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
