Vera Mae Skelton was born on June 4, 1933 in Neosho, Newton, Missouri to Frank Leslie & Erma Cleola (Swadley) Skelton.
In 1942, the Skelton family moved from Missouri to Klamath Falls, Klamath, Oregon. On June 13, 1951 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Vera married Dallas William Fanning. In December, 1954, both Vera and Dallas were witnesses for Vera's brother, Edgar F. Skelton and Dallas' sister, Marilyn J. Fanning marriage in Reno, Washoe, Nevada.
Vera and Dallas "Sonny" were blessed with 5 children: Janet, David, Ronald, Brenda, and Karen.
In 1973, the family moved to Havre, Montana then later to Washington state when Dallas was transferred by Burlington Northern Railroad.
Vera passed away November 26, 2002 with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband, all 5 children, sister, Adelma, brothers, Edgar, James, Gene, and Dean; and many nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Boyd and Jerry, a Grandson Brian Fanning.
