Isla Alexander
UPTON - Isla V. Alexander, 93, 403 N. Pike St, Kempton, died 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, in Autumnwood Extended Care at Tipton County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1906, in Clinton County, the daughter of J.W. Kemp and Cora Dell (Goodnight) Kemp. She was the wife of Carl H. Alexander, who preceded
her in death January 1967. They were married June 2, 1934.
She was a high school teacher, retiring in 1967. She was a member of Kempton Methodist Church and was a Depauw University alumna. She taught high school at
Prairie Township and Jefferson Township in Tipton County, and at Clinton County, Forrest and Tipton schools.
Surviving are one daughter, Beverly Wesner, Naples, Fla,; one son Lloyd Alexander, Kempton; four grandchildren, Lisa Ann Alexander, Fishers; Gregg Alexander, Kempton; Lora Alexander, Frankfort; and Chad Wesner, Livonia, Mich.; and three greatgrandchildren.
Services are 10-.a,m. Tuesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson St.
The Rev. Richard Covert will officiate. Burial will be in Kempton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Kempton Methodist Church
