NORTH - Services for Rozell Chavis, 84, will be held at 5:30 p.m. today, May 15, 2001, at Calvary Baptist Church, Neeses, with Rev. Bob Craven officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Chavis died Sunday, May 13, 2001. Born in Orangeburg Co., he was a son of the late Clifton and Hattie Spires Chavis. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Clarice Rutland Chavis of North; daughter, Nancy Corbett of North; son, Eugene E. "Pistol" Chavis of North; sisters, Louise Chavis, Lessie Williams, Blanche Williamson, Sadie Browne all of Neeses, Lurline Williams of Littleton, N.C., Leola Bolin of Wauchula, Fla., Bessie Wiseman of Columbia; brothers, Bennie Chavis of Columbia, C.H. Chavis of Gaston; five grandchildren.
