Betty Abshear Rudd,
85 of Mt. Sterling, widow of the late Wheeler Rudd passed away on Sat., May 14, 2011 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. Mrs. Rudd was born in Clark Co., KY on Aug. 9, 1925 to the late Frank and Lilly Bush Abshear. She was the head of the catalog department at J.C. Penney in Winchester and a member of the Epperson First Church of God.
Survivors include her son, Roger Rudd of Fleming Co.; daughter, Brendal Daniel of Montgomery Co.; 4 grandchildren, Roger Rudd Jr., Charles Daniel II, Chelle McElfresh, and Taylor Rudd; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother, John Snowden Abshear; 4 sisters, Lula Mae Puckett, Clara Brumback, Phyllis Spivey, and Francis Tice; 1 sister-in-law, Faye Faulkner; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ray, Clarence, Harold, and William "Tony" Abshear.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wed., May 18 at the Epperson First Church of God by Bro. Chris Williams. Burial will be in Daughterty Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tues., May 17 at Scobee Funeral Home.
