Jess Carter
91, of Westminster, CO after 2 1/2 years of battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer. Beloved husband of Delia; dearest father of daughters Christine (Ken) Kahler, Thornton; Diane M Carter, Roanoke, VA; son Thomas J. (Jeanne) Carter of north Denver. Kahler, Fort Collins; brothers Floyd Carter, Hot Springs AR; Don Carter, Arvada; sisters Marie Carter Rubel, Fort Collins; Earlene Carter Noles, Fort Lupton; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Volunteered for US Army World War II in North Africa (Tunisia) and Italy (Rome, Arno, North Appenines). Meat cutter in several Denver meat processing plants. Loved God and country, family, building cabin home in foothills, cooking (especially smoking beef brisket in the Weber kettle), fishing on the Gunnison River, hunting elk, deer, and antelope, growing roses, cherry trees and large gardens, telling stories and jokes, being a good neighbor, listening on the car radio to KMOX of St. Louis for the play-by-play games of his favorite baseball team (St. Louis Cardinals), fixing the unfixable, and in general bringing joy to those who crossed his path, including the nurses and doctors who did their best to help him through his life's toughest battle. He loved to love and he was loved by many in return.
