Walter Perry Brown was born January 21, 1861, and died March 27, 1934. He was born at Subula [sic, Sabula], Iowa, and moved to Plymouth county when a boy of 12. He was married February 14, 1887, to Sadie J. Burrill, of La Mars [sic, LeMars], Iowa. To this union four children were born, one of which died in infancy.
He moved with his family to Woonsocket in 1903, and engaged in the grain buying business here for several years. He traveled for the International Harvester Company for 15 years, and was marshal of the city of Woonsocket for eight years.
In late years he has been engaged in the hotel business here. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters and one son, Leoni Winslow, of Mitchell, Mrs. C. A. Hollingsworth, of Aberdeen, and Kenneth N. Brown, also of Aberdeen. He also leaves nine grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He has been a member of the Masonic lodge for 42 years. He was the son of Jeremiah and Mary Brown and was a direct descendant of Sir Walter and Lady Sennet. He was the last of a family of 13.

Brown are being held this afternoon at two o’clock, at the Masonic Temple. The services are in charge of the Masonic bodies of Woonsocket, of which the deceased was a most faithful member and lodge worker for many of his years of membership. Burial is being made in the cemetery at Huron.
