Solomon was born Sept. 27, 1843 in Scott Co, Arkansas. His father was Caleb Baker. Solomon and a brother Zadock were sent to a Confederate Army Camp in Houston Co., Texas
Married Jane Pennington of the Daly Community, Houston Co. May 7, 1885. At some point they moved to Collin Co., Texas and settled in an area named Blue Ridge.
Their children are;
1. Caleb Baker b. Sept. 24, 1866 in Houston Co., Texas
(Two prominent and interesting descendants
of Caleb's are Bo and Richard Baker of Dallas and Denton, Texas. Evangilistic crusades have taken them all over the world, Bo as Southern Baptist pastor and composer, Dick as a gifted composer, pianist, and outstanding singer.)
