Edd Dodd

Edd Dodd of Kaufman passed away December 1, 1999 in Kaufman. He was born December 8, 1913 in Rose Hill community to King and Mary Stanley Dodd.
Edd was raised in Rose Hill and Lawrence communities. During World War II he served in the US Army for five years with the Infantry Company 144. On May 1, 1948 Edd married Clara Brockway in Terrell.
Edd lived in Terrell and Kaufman and worked for Vanderhorst for 27 years retiring in 1977. He loved raising peaches and blackberries at his farm in Kaufman. Edd was a member of the First Baptist Church of Terrell and a member of the VFW in Forney.
He is survived by; his wife Clara of Kaufman; daughters, Barbara Jean Warner of Sierra Madre, California, Kathy Dodd of Kaufman, and Jan Galvin and her husband Able of Covina, California; brothers, Odell Dodd of California and Joe Mack Dodd of Terrell; sisters; Edna Drost of Terrell, Lillie Allen of Terrell, Geneva Estes of Terrell, and Odessa Travis of Wills Point; granddaughter; Devon Murphey and her husband, Chad; and great grandchild Haley Murphey.
Graveside services will be Sunday, December 5, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at College Mound Cemetery with Rev. Pat Cooper officiating. Family will receive friends at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Ashworth funeral home.
