Robert L. Dodd
Robert L. Dodd, a resident of the Terrell area, died in a local hospital Tuesday, Feb. 23. Funeral services will be held from the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Terrell at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Jimmy Sheppard officiating. Internment will be in the New Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Dodd was born Sept. 27, 1905 in Polk County, Tex., a son of the late King Franklin Dodd and Mary Elizabeth Stanley Dodd. He lived most of his life in the New Salem and Cobb Communities. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was engaged in farming most of his life. He was a member of the Elmo Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, L. B. Dodd and sister, Esther Dodd.
Survivors include; four brothers, George Dodd of Pixley, Calif., Edd Dodd of Kaufman, Odell Dodd of Azusa, Calif., Joe M. Dodd Sr. of Terrell; four sisters, Etna Drost, Geneva Estes, Lilly Allen, all of Terrell, and Odessa Travis of Lone Oak.
