Lloyd Goff, 87, of Pittsburg, died at 12:10 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2007, at the Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg.
He was born January 8, 1920, at Girard, KS, the son of Edward and Adaline (Frakes) Goff.
On June 24, 1941, he was united in marriage to Hazel (Black) Goff at Carthage, MO. She survives of the home.
Mr. Goff was a United States Navy Sea Bee during World War II. He was Honorably Discharged in November of 1945.
Mr. Goff was a welder mechanic and equipment superintendent for Utah Construction and Perini Construction. He worked overseas at times, building dams for electricity and flood control. Some of the jobs took him to Bangladesh, Greece, and Australia.
Mr. Goff was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pittsburg, and the Four Oaks Golf Course.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; Thomas Goff, Boise, Idaho, Benjamin Goff, Yuba City, CA, and Daniel Goff, Loomis, CA, one daughter, Linda Grill, Hobe Sound, Florida, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and several cousins.
His Parents, four sisters, and one brother precede him in death.
Services for Mr. Goff are set for 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2007, at the Brenner Mortuary, with Pastor James Hargett, conducting the service.
Burial will follow into the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Friends may also call at the Brenner Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday.
The family suggests memorials to the Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg. These may be left at or sent to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th Street, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
