Lois Peterson

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Lois R. Peterson of Portland, former 90-year resident of Eugene, who died April 22 of age-related causes. She was 94.

She was born July 9, 1916, in Joseph to Earl and Nellie Vaughn Gowing. She married Herbert Peterson on Nov. 23, 1939, in Lorane. He died in 1986.

She graduated from Lorane High School. She owned and operated Lois' Drapery Den in Eugene.

Survivors include two sons, Duane of Rocklin, Calif., and Richard "Pete" of Portland; two brothers, Melvin Gowing and Marvin Gowing, both of Cottage Grove; three sisters, Wilma Ryder of Salem, Nina Aubrey of Lovelock, Nev., and Maxine Reed of San Diego; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
