A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Eugene Friends Church for Harold Gowing of Eugene, who died April 13 of age-related causes at age 84.
He was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Eugene, to Harlan and Nellie Vaughan Gowing. He married Mary Marsh on May 8, 1942, in Eugene.
Gowing served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He worked in the lumber products industry.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Darold and Harlan; four sisters; two brothers; and eight grandchildren.
