ENFIELD - Evans Page Batchelder, 67, died May 12, 2009, at his home. He was born June 4, 1941, in Enfield, the son of Charles and Glenna (Bunker) Batchelder. Evans liked making things from wood. He liked hunting, fishing, keeping his lawn mowed and riding in his Tracker. He was a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, worked in a shoe shop and was a boiler operator.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (McLaughlin) Batchelder of Enfield; two sons, Mark Batchelder and his wife, Laura, of Enfield, and Troy Batchelder and his wife, Kim, of Howland; three sisters, Elizabeth Ranco of Alton, Josephine Hanson and her husband, Eugene, of Charleston, and Melissa Curtis and her husband, Calvin, of Lowell; a brother, David Rollins and his wife, Penny, of South Carolina; his stepmother, Clydie Batchelder of Howland; grandchildren, Kortni and Lacee Batchelder of Howland, Kyle and Kirstin Batchelder of Enfield, and Erika and Heather Weymouth of Enfield; several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his best buddy, his dog, Jed.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Leslie Crosby.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Lincoln Cemetery. (Clay Funeral Home on-line)
