Owen was a veteran of World War II, Headquarter and Hz. Co. C. W. S. 2ndthg. stationed first at New Cumberland, Pa. where he was sent to Edgewood Arsnel Md., then to Camp Seibert, Alabama. Drafted March, 1942. Discharged September 1943. Serial No. 33159976, serving in the US Army. He was involved in farming and was a fruit grower in the Cashtown area most of his life. He was a life member and chief for 20 years of the Cashtown Fire Company.
