KALBFLEISCH, EMMA JEAN, 80, of Louisville, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011.

She was the former Emma Vowels, a retired employee of Seneca High School where she had 19 years of service, a member of St. Martha Catholic Church and Woodhaven Country Club and attended Southeast Christian Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Louis John Kalbfleisch.

Survivors include her children, Louis "Tom" Kalbfleisch (Reva), Mary Catherine Lauer (Bob), William J. Kalbfleisch (Rebecca), Deborah J. Kalbfleisch and Cheryl Ann Kalbfleisch; sisters, Dorothy E. Hite and Mary A. Winberg; grandchildren, Heather (Brad), Colleen (C.J.), Bobby and Staci (Chad); as well as five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Home for the care and love extended to Emma during her stay.

Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, where visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and again Thursday from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Burial will follow the service in St. Michael Cemetery.
