Rites Today for Lifetime Beauregard Parish Resident
Jan. 17. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Alice Howell, 91, at Sugartown Baptist Church with the Rev. Seth Baggett, the Rev. P. Simmons, and the Rev. J.D. Ford officiating. Burial will be in Camptown Cemetery with Hixson's Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Howell, lifetime resident of Beauregard Parish, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday at her residence near Dry Creek. Survivors include two sons, Middleton Howell of DeRidder, Charles A. Howell of Dry Creek; five daughters, Mrs. J.D. Stanley and Mrs. Ben F. Ryan of Lake Charles, Mrs. F.S. Self of Kilburn, La., and Mrs. P.F. Huckaby of Port Arthur, Tex., and Mrs. Clara Harper of Sugartown; three brothers, Monroe Sigler and Lovick Sigler of Grant, John Sigler of Elizabeth; 61 grandchildren, 124 great-grandchildren and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
