The following is an excerpt from his obituary:
BROMLEY, Joseph, age 71 of Sumas, passed away in a Seattle hospital, Friday, November 29, (1963) following an extended illness. A retired Grader Operator for
the Whatcom County Road Dept., he had been a resident of Sumas since 1898. He had served with the U. S. Army during World War I and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 212 of Sumas.
