Funeral for Gurthie Puckett, 85, of Decatur will be Thursday, May 4, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Williams and James Toone officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Puckett, who died Monday, May 1, 2006, at her residence, was born June 21, 1920, in Hartselle to Robert and Maggie Nelson. She was retired from the Mental Retreat Hospital. She was a member of First Holy Church of Christ in Decatur. Her husband, Lance Puckett, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Eugene Puckett, Kenneth Puckett and Ernie Puckett; three daughters, Brenda J. Hall, Gail Hufft and Melissa Peterson; two brothers, Robert Nelson Jr. and Elton Nelson; one sister, Mary Moore; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Preston Hall Jr., John Paul Harris, Kim Kiser, Charles Brown, Raymond Tankersley and Wendell Thrasher.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, P.O. Box 626, Athens, AL 35612.
