Bertha Mae Nelson Griffin

Funeral for Bertha Mae Griffin, 62, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carlisle and the Rev. Jack Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Griffin died Saturday, July 27, 1996, at her home of cancer. She was born November 1, 1933, in Falkville to Robert and Maggie Nelson. She was a member of Moulton Heights Baptist Church and also attended Central Park Baptist Church. She was a bookkeeper at General Mart Furniture. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Robert Griffin; one son, Melvin Tran Griffin of Decatur; one daughter, Rita Ross of Decatur; two brothers, Robert Nelson Jr. and Elton Nelson of Fultondale; three sisters, Gurthie Puckett of Decatur, Louise Alvis of Hartselle and Mary Edith Moore of Falkville; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be James Hudgins, Frank Little, Ronnie Riddle, Henry Chambers, James Chambers and Bill Montgomery.
