WELL KNOWN ATTY. DIED.
R. J. Raleigh, 59 years old, a practicing attorney, of Edina, died suddenly at his room in the Victor Hotel about 6:30 Sunday morning. Becoming ill about 3:30, he called to Mrs. Victor and asked that she summed a physician, which she did but he died before the physician arrived.
An inquest was held by Mrs. J. W. Hudson, coroner, and it was found that death was due to a heart attack. The body was removed to the L. B. Kelly funeral home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in St Joseph church by the Rev. Hudson, and burial was in the new St. Joseph cemetery, beside his wife who died several years ago.
Attorney Raleigh, was born in Benton, Illinois, January 8, 1876 [sic], a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Raleigh. He was married to Miss Daisy Raredon [sic] in Lewis [sic] county, in October [sic], 1898, and to them four children were born. One died in infancy and the surviving ones are Mrs. Thomas McManus, of Kansas City; Mrs. Otto Wright and Miss Helen Raleigh, of Quincy, Illinois.
He had practiced law in Lewis and Knox counties for many years and served as prosecuting attorney of Knox county two terms. He had lived in Edina for thirty-eight years and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He has one brother, Thomas Raleigh, who is an attorney, in St. Louis and Springfield.
