Father of Edina Man Who Died in Quincy at Age of 84 Buried Here.

Thomas A. Raleigh, 84 years old, father of R. J. Raleigh of Edina and for some years himself a resident of the town, died at 12:30 o'clock Friday noon at St. Vincent's Home in Quincy, where he has spent the last year. He had been a sufferer from asthma and had had an attack of flu a week before, but was able to sit up again.
The body was brought to Edina Sunday morning to the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Frank J. McManus. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D. J. Donovan at St. Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock Monday morning. Burial was in the new Catholic cemetery beside the grave of Mr. Raleigh's wife, who before their marriage was Mary Mallery, and who died in Edina April 14, 1926.
Two sons survive, the one mentioned, and Thomas E. Raleigh of St. Louis. Besides these Mr. Raleigh leaves four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother, William G. Raleigh, of Canton.
Thomas Aloysius Raleigh was born July 8, 1844, in Limerick, Ireland, and came to the United States in 1863 and settled east of Quincy, where he lived until 1880, when he went to Lewis County. He came to Edina from there in 1918, and lived in Edina until a years or so after the death of his wife. He was a member of St. Joseph's Society of St. Joseph's Church here and of the Edina Council Knights of Columbus.
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Raleigh and son, Glennon, of St. Louis and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wright and baby of Quincy, who were here for the funeral, left Monday evening for their homes. Mrs. Wright is a granddaughter of the late Mr. Raleigh. William G. Raleigh, the brother, and his six sons and two of their wives, of and near Canton, were here also for the funeral.
