Miss Helen Raleigh Dies in California
Word was received Saturday night by Mrs. Otto Wright, 140 North Twenty-fourth, of the sudden death of her sister, Miss Helen E. Raleigh, 40, in Long Beach, Cal. Miss Raleigh died Saturday afternoon after being admitted to a hospital as a pneumonia patient earlier in the day.
Miss Raleigh was born at Edina, Mo., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Raleigh. She lived in Quincy with her sister and brother-in-law while attending Gem City Business college and was known to many here. She was a corporal in the marine corps during World war II, serving approximately three years, and after separation from the service located in Long Beach.
Surviving besides Mrs. Wright is another sister, Mrs. Frank J. McManus of Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be at Edina , but funeral arrangements have not been completed.
