US ARMY - WORLD WAR II

A. Paul Sheaffer, 64, of 531 Old Dorwart St., died at 2:45 a.m. Monday at Lancaster General Hospital after an illness of one month.

He was the husband of the late Catherine E. (Holtzapple) Sheaffer who died June 1970.

Sheaffer was the proprietor of the former Sheaffer's Inn for 25 years before his retirement in 1960.

He served with the United States Army Fifth Division, during World War II in the European Theatre

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Samuel S. and Ida R. (Weachter) Sheaffer. He lived in Lancaster all of his life.

He is survived by the following children: Terrence R., Sidney R., Thomas R., and Joseph R., all of Lancaster, Mary Kay, wife of Ivan Huber, Covena, CA and Bruce B. at home; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Samuel S., Lancaster, and two sisters, Miss Kathryn Sheaffer and Mrs. Rhoda Krall, also of Lancaster.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Fred F. Groff Funeral Home, Lancaster on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., October 18, 1973, with the Rev. Dwight W. McKay officiating. Interment is in Riverview Burial Park.
